100 year war
In France, a king died with no sons, and two people claimed his throne. One was French, and the other was the King of England. In the end the French man ended up being king. The English King was mad because he wasn't the king of France so he invaded France. This war between England and France was called the 100 year war. The English won most of the battles and it seemed as if they were going to take over France, until a peasant teenage girl named Joan Of Arc, rallied the French people to fight against the English. They captured Joan and killed her but it was too late, they had invaded and drove the English away from their country in 1453. The 100 year war affected both countries largely. It affect England because the Parliament grew because the king needed money for the costly war. It affected France because fighting the English started a bond between the nobles and the king, making him stronger.
